Overlooking the Chattahoochee and Cherokee Nation Forests, the golf course at Old Toccoa Farm offers incomparable views of the North Georgia countryside spanning over 125 acres.

Striking natural features like clusters of mountain laurel and wildflower pastures, rocky outcroppings, and majestic hardwoods are among the reasons that Old Toccoa made the list of courses on the Georgia Golf Trail. Trail Founder, Doug Hollandsworth, calls Old Toccoa "a wonderfully designed golf course with well-maintained greens", citing the holes that wind along more than 4,000 feet of the Toccoa River as a main draw.

The Dan Proctor, Dave Axland, and Bunker Hill designed 9-hole course is a Par 70, measuring 6,850 yards with over 280 feet of elevation changes. Families will appreciate friendly elements like the generous chipping area and putting green.

Magnificent forests, native meadows, and bentgrass greens combine to create a stellar game experience in a uniquely picturesque setting.

Whitepath Golf Club

Opened in 1987, Whitepath Golf Club is just as appealing to the seasoned pro as it is to the fledgling hobbyist. The 18-hole course designed by Rocky Roquemore and Joe Lee measures 6,400 yards at max, with three sets of tees for varying skill levels.

Hole 10 has been referred to as the "toughest Par 5 in Georgia". Whitepath suggests to "keep it in the middle with fairway woods and mid irons. Be happy with Bogey" when it comes to the tenth hole.

Stand-out aspects include rolling terrain, meticulously maintained small greens and panoramic views of the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains and the Cohutta Wilderness.

Water features range from creeks and ponds to the Ellijay River and Whitepath Lake. Whitepath Golf Course has a driving range and practice green to tweak your game before hitting the course. Tight fairways and a little rough make for a challenging game.

There is not much that can compare to the beauty of a golf course located in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

No two holes are remotely the same at Butternut Creek Golf Course. Designed by Bill Watts, this course integrates water features on 13 holes and breathtaking mountain views from all 18.

Dramatic elevation changes and strategic mounds meet Penncross Bent Grass greens and Tifton 419 Bermuda fairways to define the 6,400+ yard course. Butternut Creek Golf Course is nestled in downtown Blairsville beneath the beautiful Ivy Log Mountain. This remarkably serene location serves as the home course for two leagues (men's and women's) during the summer season.

Owned and operated by the Union County Recreation Department, the Butternut Creek Golf Course is also home to the Union County Community Center. Conveniently located along the upper end of the course, the center offers locker rooms, a pro shop, and The View Restaurant and Grill.

After a game, be sure to stop in for a drink and a bite at The View, where all tables have an inspiring view of the course and the North Georgia Mountains.

Designed in 2009, the course stretches out to over 7,500 yards from the tips. Course architect Denis Griffiths incorporated a host of distinctive features, including steep vertical faces, flat-bottomed bunkers, dramatic edging, elevated shapes, and notable strategic variety.

Beginners to professionals will find Old Union to be a welcome host. The unrivaled onsite practice facility provides large turf tees, all-weather tees, sculptured target greens, practice putting and chipping greens, practice bunker, and short game areas, and even lessons.

Old Union Golf Course offers a choice of 9 or 18 holes of affordable golf, as well as a nice setting to relax with refreshments when the game is complete.

Copper Basin Golf Club

A short drive from Downtown Blue Ridge is Copper Basin’s nine-hole course. The course is challenging enough to attract skilled golfers but there are two sets of tees for a front and back nine that give golfers options based on their level of ability. Expect to tackle elevated bent grass greens, Bermuda fairways, and some sand traps. This course doesn’t have any water to tackle.

Greens, fairways, and tees are all well-maintained and in excellent condition, and the panoramic views of the surrounding mountains are breathtaking. Community is at the heart of this golf club and regular tournaments take place throughout the year. There’s also a pool and snack bar on site so you can make a day of it.
