So, with that in mind, let's take a walk down Main Street and see what we find. Our journey begins at the north end of town, where Old Highway 5 meets the Ellijay River. From there, we'll walk through downtown Ellijay and follow the river until we reach the Gilmer Fairground.

Finishing our tour of Ellijay is the Gilmer County Civic Center. This site is also home to the Gilmer County Fairgrounds. If you want to experience the essence of Ellijay, we highly recommend visiting when there's a big event in town. Come for the entertainment, but stay for the shopping.
